Trustees Tim and Cheryl of the Michael Lewis Foundation were invited to Barr Beacon School on July 6th to receive a generous donation of £4,380.12. The funds were raised through the incredible fundraising efforts of the school’s pupils and staff.
As a foundation that seeks to raise awareness and support for Type 1 Diabetes, the Michael Lewis Foundation was touched and amazed by the efforts of the school’s community. Barr Beacon School holds a special place in Michael’s life, and it is heartwarming to see the school continue to support his legacy in such a meaningful way.
Dame Brennan, Head Teacher of Barr Beacon School, expressed her delight in supporting the Michael Lewis Foundation, stating that “the foundation is named after a past student who were an excellent ambassador for Barr Beacon and a delightful young man.” She recounted Michael’s visit to the school shortly before his passing, where he inspired and encouraged fellow students to pursue higher education. “He loved life, and we all loved him,” she added. “Our pupils had raised money for charity, and this is a wonderful charity to support.”
