The first-ever Michael Lewis Foundation golf day was a resounding success, with Auction House Birmingham and The Black Country as proud sponsors. The event, held at Walsall Golf Club, was a complete sell-out, with all 22 four-ball teams vying to raise money for the charity. The event exceeded all expectations, raising an incredible £4632.00.
The day was expertly organized by Chris, Cheryl, and the Auction House team, in conjunction with the staff at Walsall Golf Club. Everything ran like clockwork, with attendees treated to bacon rolls on arrival, smooth registration, and a perfectly-timed shotgun start to ensure that all golfers finished the game in time for the evening meal.
The evening was filled with excitement as Chris Edwards presented the prize to the winning team, Hearnshaws Carpets. The atmosphere was then brought to a touching moment, as Cheryl delivered a moving speech that shed light on the challenges of living with type 1 diabetes.
The event was capped off with a raffle, which was made possible through the generous donations of prizes and ticket purchases by the attendees. We cannot thank everyone enough for their generosity and support.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Auction House and Walsall Golf Club for their invaluable support in making the event a grand success. Additionally, we thank Mike for providing perfect weather for the day. The success of this event has strengthened our resolve to continue to work towards our mission to support those with type 1 diabetes and their families. We look forward to the next event, which we hope will be just as successful.
